Effective 10 September 2026. The Folio Desk is a writing desk that packages print files. It is not a publisher.
Your writing
Poems, stories, recipes, journal entries, cover art you bring, and the book you make from them stay yours. Folio does not claim the manuscript. There is no account. The collection lives in your browser until you download a save file.
Not Amazon
The Folio Desk is not affiliated with Amazon, Kindle, or Kindle Direct Publishing. Amazon and Kindle are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. Folio never holds a KDP password and never presses Publish. You create the title at KDP and upload the files yourself.
The files
The interior PDF is built to KDP’s usual paperback rules: no bleed, even page count of at least 24, embedded type. The wrap is sized to your trim, paper, and page count. KDP still reviews every upload. A mismatch — wrong trim, a barcode in the well, a spine that does not match their page count — can fail their preview. Folio does not guarantee Amazon will accept a file, list a book, or pay royalties.
Payment
The interior is free. The jacket (wrap, zip, paste card) is $24. A Kindle EPUB and cover JPG is $24. An hour with Orion at KDP is $50. Cards go through Stripe. Folio does not store card numbers. Refunds are on the refunds page.
Use
Use the desk for work you have the right to print. Do not upload other people’s writing as your own. Infer and Proof are optional reads; they do not make the book yours or ours. Folio may refuse a code, a payment, or an hour if the desk is being abused.
Kansas
These terms are Kansas law. The desk is provided as it is. Folio is not liable for lost drafts (download a save file), a KDP rejection, or what happens to a book after you publish it. If a piece of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still stands.
